Overview

With the booming pet economy, pet safety has become a growing concern. Traditional GPS collars often face high power consumption, high cost, and slow response, making them unsuitable for daily use.


AXTEK Technology has developed a low-power smart GPS pet collar based on FMD 8-bit MCU, integrating GPS positioning, motion monitoring, and electronic fence functions. The design balances performance and cost, ideal for long-term wear on small and medium pets.


The collar collects real-time location via GPS, monitors pet activity via a 3-axis accelerometer, and uploads data to the cloud through NB-IoT. Users can track their pets anytime via a mobile app.

Core Functions

1. Smart Positioning Modes

   *  Active Tracking: When the pet leaves a safe zone, GPS & NB-IoT wake up, uploading location every 30s for 10 minutes.

   *  Power-Saving Patrol: When stationary for over 30 minutes, GPS turns off; only the accelerometer remains active, MCU enters sleep mode (<3μA).

   *  Dynamic Interval Adjustment: Updates location based on movement (every 5 min when active, every 2 h when idle).

2. Electronic Fence

   *  Supports circular & polygonal zones; up to 3 customizable areas via app (e.g., home, park).

   *  Alarm triggers if the pet leaves a zone for more than 2 minutes (reduces GPS drift false alarms).

3. Motion Monitoring

   *  Tracks daily steps & active time; generates health reports.

   *  Alerts for abnormal inactivity (>6 hours), e.g., “Pet may be trapped.”

4. Low-Power Management

   *  Hierarchical Power-Off: MCU controls GPS/NB-IoT via GPIO, fully cutting off power when idle.

   *  RTC Wake-Up: Built-in timer wakes MCU every 2 hours for battery & connectivity check.

   *  Battery Protection: Below 20% battery, GPS off, only NB-IoT uploads daily status.

5. User Interaction
