Overview:
The BMI088 is a robust 6-degree-of-freedom (6DoF) inertial measurement unit (IMU) designed for high-performance consumer applications in vibration-prone environments such as drones and robotics. It integrates an advanced triaxial 16-bit gyroscope and a leading-edge triaxial 16-bit accelerometer into a single compact package. The sensor excels at suppressing high-frequency vibrations (above a few hundred Hz) caused by PCB or structural resonances. With an extended accelerometer measurement range of up to ±24g, it prevents signal clipping under strong mechanical shocks. The BMI088 incorporates Bosch-developed MEMS structures and ASIC, calibrated and tested for reliability. It supports flexible digital interfaces (SPI/I2C) with a wide VDDIO voltage range (1.2V to 3.6V) and offers on-chip features such as FIFO buffers, interrupt controllers, and independent or synchronized operation of gyroscope and accelerometer. The device is characterized by exceptional temperature stability, featuring low temperature coefficient of offset (TCO) and sensitivity (TCS).
