The BCX51 series are PNP medium power transistor families housed in Surface-Mounted Device (SMD) plastic packages, including the BCX51-16 variant which is available in a SOT89 (SC-62) 3-lead flat package or a leadless SOT1061 package. These devices feature a –45 V collector-emitter voltage rating, up to –1 A continuous collector current, high power dissipation capability with an exposed heatsink for superior thermal and electrical conductivity, and three DC current gain (hFE) grouping options. The BCX51-16 is characterized by a minimum hFE of 100 at IC = –150 mA, VCE = –2 V. All variants are AEC-Q101 qualified for automotive applications and are suitable for linear voltage regulation, high-side switching, power management, MOSFET gate driving, and small-signal amplification in battery-powered and industrial equipment.
