The TLC6C5712-Q1 is a 12-channel constant-current sink LED driver designed for automotive instrument clusters and other safety-critical LED applications. It delivers up to 75mA per channel with excellent current accuracy (channel-to-channel and device-to-device variation < ±3%), and features 8-bit, 256-step linear dot correction per channel to compensate for LED brightness and color temperature variations. The device supports flexible external PWM dimming with 6 programmable-mapping PWM inputs and a high dimming ratio, enabling versatile multi-color LED configurations. Comprehensive protection and diagnostic features—including open-load, short-to-ground, LED short, adjacent pin short, thermal warning/shutdown, LED weak-supply, and reference resistor fault detection—enhance system-level robustness and simplify safety-oriented designs.

In automotive instrument clusters and other safety-critical LED driver applications, the demand for multi-channel LED performance is increasing to ensure consistent LED brightness and color temperature. System-level safety considerations require detection of various fault conditions, which adds to system complexity. The TLC6C5712-Q1 device is a 12-channel constant-current sink LED driver. With 8-bit dot correction and high-accuracy output current, the TLC6C5712-Q1 device is an ideal solution for correcting LED brightness and color temperature variations. The device provides advanced protection and diagnostic features per channel to enhance system-level robustness and simplify safety-oriented designs. Six PWM inputs with programmable mapping support multiple LED color dimming configurations and offer a high dimming ratio. The 16-bit Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) with diagnostic features supports daisy-chaining of multiple devices and simplifies system-level design.
