TI TPS54824RNVR STOCK

The TPS54824 is a fully featured, high-efficiency 17V, 8A synchronous buck converter that integrates both high-side and low-side power MOSFETs within a compact 3.5mm × 3.5mm HotRod™ QFN package. Optimized for space-constrained, high-density power systems, this device leverages peak current-mode control to reduce external component count while delivering fast transient response. Its wide fixed switching frequency range (200kHz to 1.6MHz) with external clock synchronization enables designers to optimize inductor size and overall solution footprint. The TPS54824 offers a precision 0.6V reference with ±0.85% accuracy across temperature, an adjustable output voltage range from 0.6V to 12V, and robust protection features including hiccup current limiting, safe startup to pre-biased outputs, adjustable soft-start and power sequencing, input undervoltage lockout, output overvoltage protection, and thermal shutdown.

Description:

The TPS54824 is a fully featured 17V, 8A synchronous buck converter housed in a 3.5mm × 3.5mm HotRod™ QFN package. The device is specifically optimized for high efficiency and integrates both high-side and low-side MOSFETs, making it suitable for small-form-factor solutions. It further saves space by employing peak current-mode control, which reduces component count, and by offering a high switching frequency option that allows for a smaller inductor. Peak current-mode control simplifies loop compensation and provides fast transient response. In the event of an overload, cycle-by-cycle peak current limiting on both the high-side and low-side sourcing current limits protects the device. Hiccup mode limits MOSFET power dissipation under sustained short-circuit or overload faults. A power-good monitoring circuit supervises the regulator output. The PGOOD pin is an open-drain output that enters a high-impedance state during output voltage regulation. An internal blanking time prevents the PGOOD pin from being pulled low unless a fault condition occurs. A dedicated EN pin can be used to control regulator on/off and to adjust the input undervoltage lockout. The output voltage startup ramp is controlled by the SS/TRK pin, which supports both independent power supply operation and tracking mode.
