The TPS548B28RWWR is a high‑efficiency, compact synchronous step‑down (buck) converter from Texas Instruments, featuring an adaptive on‑time D‑CAP3™ control architecture that eliminates the need for external loop compensation. This simplifies design, reduces component count, and minimizes solution footprint—making it ideal for space‑constrained data center and industrial power applications.The device delivers up to 20A of continuous output current over a wide input voltage range of 4V to 16V (no external bias) or 2.7V to 16V (with 3.13V–3.6V external bias). The output voltage is adjustable from 0.6V to 5.5V, with a precision ±1% voltage reference (0.6V) maintained across the entire –40°C to +125°C junction temperature range. Integrated high‑performance MOSFETs (7.7mΩ and 2.4mΩ) ensure high efficiency and excellent thermal performance.

Description:

The TPS548B28 device is a high-efficiency, small-size synchronous step-down converter with an adaptive on-time D-CAP3™ control mode. The device requires no external compensation, making it easy to use with minimal external components. It is ideally suited for space-constrained data center applications. The TPS548B28 features differential remote sensing and high-performance integrated MOSFETs, with a precision (±1%) 0.6V voltage reference across the entire operating junction temperature range. The device offers fast load transient response, accurate load and line regulation, skip mode or FCCM operation, and programmable soft-start. The TPS548B28 is a lead-free device and is fully RoHS compliant without exemption.
