The IIS3DWB is a system-in-package featuring a three-axis digital vibration sensor with low noise and an ultra-wide, flat frequency range. Designed specifically for vibration monitoring in industrial applications, this device offers high bandwidth, low noise, highly stable and repeatable sensitivity, and reliable operation across an extended temperature range up to +105°C.
Its low power consumption, high performance, digital output, and embedded digital features (such as FIFO and interrupts) make it ideal for battery-operated industrial wireless sensor nodes.
The IIS3DWB features selectable full-scale acceleration ranges (±2/±4/±8/±16 g) and is capable of measuring acceleration with a bandwidth up to 6 kHz and an output data rate of 26.7 kHz. An integrated 3-kB first-in, first-out (FIFO) buffer is embedded to prevent data loss and limit host processor intervention.
STMicroelectronics' MEMS sensor module portfolio leverages robust and mature manufacturing processes already used for micromachined accelerometers and gyroscopes serving automotive, industrial, and consumer markets. The sensing element is manufactured using ST's dedicated micromachining process, while the embedded IC interface is developed with CMOS technology.
The IIS3DWB includes a self-test capability that allows checking the sensor's functionality in the final application. It is housed in a plastic land grid array (LGA) package guaranteed to operate over an extended temperature range from -40°C to +105°C.
